In a world devoid of greenery, where life is played out among stone and plastic, a child discovers something extraordinary: a tree is growing under her bedroom floor. A real, living tree – the first she has ever seen. When the machines are standing by to cut down the tree to build the umpteenth air purification centre, the child has to make a choice: either she says nothing, or she swings into action…
